Maya's Tang Yuan

Maya made tang yuan with her class again this year. Tang yuan are sweet sticky rice flour balls that are usually filled with pureed peanuts or black seasame. Maya's had red bean paste inside. She was so excited about making them herself, and she kept begging me to make them for her. Well, finally one evening I decided we should have them for snack, and she was thrilled. Here's the booty, still frozen:

Quick comparison to gauge the size. That's my finger, not hers.

You, my dears, are about to be eaten! Yum!!

See what I made?

Heatin' up the water. Exciting stuff, I know.

Once it's boiling, pop those bad boys on in. Let 'em dance around for a few minutes.

Testing for doneness. They should be sticky on the outside and gooey in the middle.
Scoop 'em out.

Place them in your favorite color bowl.
Smile for the camera :)

And smile again nicely for Grandma and Grandpa.

Take one bite and then say that you don't like them, can you please have some crackers for snack. @#*%*(&@#^)@*&#)@!!!!!!
